Paul suffering from overheating kept him locked in at 2-3 laps max per heat, but he pulled in the quickest times in the first and second rounds. Due to the track changing ever so slightly between each heat... direct comparison was difficult when Aaron entered during the third round (in which he had a quicker time). As such... we had a one lap, winner-take-all tie breaker! It was intense, but in the end, Aaron in his black 350z prevailed!
Congrats to Aaron and reclaiming the trophy! We're going to miss the competition... and we wish him the best of luck as he serves our country over seas for the next 6 months. Great job!

Events / 09/22/12 - HIN/XDC at Texas Motor Speedway
« Last post by Lrn2Go on August 21, 2012, 11:14:26 am »Only a 2.5 hour drive from OKC... this sounds like a pretty slick event held at Texas Motor Speedway! It's technically Friday and Saturday (2 rounds of drifting) for the Xtreme Drift Circuit, as well as Hot Import Nights car show later on Saturday night. Considering the venue and the sponsers at the event, I expect this to be huge... on a level of nothing we've seen in Oklahoma in years!

9:30am – Driver’s Meeting: Gary will go over the rules, give a few tips, we’ll walk the course and watch some seasoned drivers connect the course. This will be a good time for questions. Begin Oklahoma Drift practice
4:30pm – End of Oklahoma Drift practice – Shut down and clean up
Car requirements
PLEASE PRINT OFF THE TECH INSPECTION SHEET AND BRING IT WITH YOU THE DAY OF THE EVENT!!!! (see Facebook group for more information and link to the inspection sheet)
Rules
• Please be courteous to all local speed limit signs and show courtesy to the people in Area when you drive through town. You’re representing Friction Motor Sports and its sponsors, we need to keep a good name for ourselves so that we can continue to use the venue in the future. In other words, the drifting stops when you leave the lot!!!
• Please adhere to a 10mph rule when you’re not on the course.
• Drivers must be 17 or older and posses a valid driver’s license.
• Snell approved helmet required. Helmet must be in good condition and show no signs of damage.
Drivers: You will have a full day of seat time available. The only limitation is your tires and your vehicle. Be sure you print off and review the Tech Inspection sheet (information on Facebook) and bring it with you to the event. Also bring a helmet, some spare wheels and tires, basic tools, and a good attitude!
Spectators/Photographers: There is elevated areas on 3 sides of the lot where buildings once stood, which is perfect for watching and taking pictures.
These events are very laid back, so bring some lawn chairs, sunscreen, and a cooler. If you like to hang out with cool people who love cars, then you’ll have a blast!

- Drifting into the water balloons seemed to be very popular with the driver and the fans. I think we will do it again and throw in a little twist with this one. Come out and envoy the days events and have some fun. Ride with your favorite drive. Hope to see you out at this one.
Bring some sort of shade, sun screen, water and a good attitude. We will have vendors on site so we will not be taking a lunch. I will have water for sale if you run out. Don't forget that you need to drink a 20oz of water an hour out in the heat. If you are not sweating, you are dehydrating.

This is the LAST outing with the Z club this year... so make sure to represent OCIDE and make it count! Time for you to try and get some more wins with that trophy and shoot for the coveted "Fastest Driver of the year" award that you get to keep!
