Very interesting.  Why does the turbo beetle's graph have so many peaks and valleys?  I would have that that it would have been much more linear since it's FI.

Best as I can tell is that it's an Auto. It would usually switch gears while on the dyno... plus it can't breathe very well, if I were to guess. The stock air box seems pretty restricting to me. But I don't know german cars... so who knows.

That makes sense.  Throw on a free-flowing intake and get some more power and better mpg.  Does the beetle have an autostick or no?

Nope. It's a 4 speed auto, nothin' special.
